Terms of Service
Draft terms for UpPage. Not yet in force: the service has not launched and these terms have not had legal review.
Operator and agreement
TODO: legal entity, registered address, contact email, effective date, governing law, dispute process, and how acceptance is recorded at sign-up. UpPage (uppage.dev) is the product name.
The service
UpPage hosts one public status page per account, on a subdomain of the UpPage pages domain or, on Pro and White Label, on a domain the customer proves they control. Status comes from the customer’s own updates and from sources they connect: website and MCP checks run from UpPage’s servers, heartbeats, monitoring webhooks, the API and agents (MCP).
Website checks are best-effort probes from a single provider region, not a global monitoring network. Team notifications (email, Slack, webhooks) go to destinations the customer chooses for its own team, such as member and on-call addresses; UpPage does not offer subscriptions for page visitors. There is no contractual availability commitment (SLA).
Customer responsibilities
Customers are responsible for what their page says, for connecting only systems and domains they are authorized to use, and for keeping tokens, ping URLs and webhook secrets private. Updates should distinguish confirmed facts from interpretation.
Plans, limits and changes
Plan limits (monitors, heartbeats, members, history, custom domain, branding) are shown before purchase and enforced by the service. After a downgrade, resources over the new limit become read-only and are not deleted; a custom domain stops serving and the hosted page stays live. See Refunds & Renewals for billing terms.
Inactive free accounts
Free accounts with no sign-in or update for a long period are warned, then unpublished, then deleted (proposed: warnings at 180 and 300 days, unpublish at 210, deletion at 330). These steps run only after a warning is confirmed delivered; until email delivery confirmation exists, nothing is unpublished or deleted for inactivity. Paid accounts are never deleted for inactivity.
Suspension, termination and export
Pages that break the Acceptable Use Policy can be held offline or taken down. Owners can export all account data at any time and delete their account from Settings; deleted data is purged within 30 days and expires from backups within 35.
TODO: counsel-reviewed warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnity, notice periods, appeal process, and mandatory consumer rights.
